FEEL THE RUSH
Your rental allows for a “free ride”; meaning you are not forced to follow a guide or go in circles around buoys. Once you receive safety and operational instruction, you are free to travel the designated riding area at your own free will. However, if you travel outside of boundaries, you are subject to forfeit the remainder of your rental without refund.
RIDING AREA
A 9 mile stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway from Surf City Swing Bridge to North Topsail High Rise Bridge. This is considered the “Bay” or “sound”, not the ocean. Waters are usually pretty calm depending on boat traffic. The Intracoastal Waterway width varies, but at minimum about 200 feet of safe width. Your instructor will go over and point out the boundaries to each operator & group. We have boundaries in place to ensure your rental is safe & enjoyable. Traveling outside of boundaries almost always leads to getting stuck on a sand bar. This is huge safety issue where you may endure razor sharp oyster shells and a long wait for return of the tide + possibly damaging the watercraft + an additional recovery fee IF we can even get to you. In other words, you are given plenty of freedom in the designated riding area, so please don’t stray.
